Welcome to Foresters FC
Tunbridge Wells Foresters was formed in 1982 to provide football to boys within the locality of Tunbridge Wells and has now become the major footballing provider in the town. We were the first club in the country to fully adopt the principles of mini soccer as a basis for our players to be able to progress and develop at a junior soccer level and then on into adult football.
From small beginnings Foresters has now grown to a current membership of around 400 players, volunteers and supporters and we continue to grow.
Mission Statement
To provide a safe and enjoyable environment for girls and boys from 5 to adult to learn and develop their footballing skills, encouraging fair play, good behaviour and teamwork both on and off the pitch, supported by good coaching staff, a strong management structure and a sound financial footing.
Our Ethos
First and foremost Foresters Football Club exists to teach kids of all ages and abilities how to play football, the greatest game on the planet!
We understand that football is a very competitive game that fosters within its participants the desire to not only be the best they can possibly be, but also to be winners. We embrace that philosophy. However, we also realise that football is also about having fun, learning new skills, being part of a team and making friends. We embarce that philosophy too.
If you play for Foresters then you can be assured that you are playing for a club that will teach you how to play competitively whilst making sure you have lots of fun.
FA Charter Standard Development Club
In 1997 the FA, as part of the Charter for Quality initiative introduced The Charter Standard. In simple terms this was a system to benchmark the capabilities of football clubs at a grass roots level. Its aim was to put the player at the centre of all football developments, to raise standards, recognise good practice and reward quality. After a successful pilot scheme two awards were created: The Charter Standard Club and the Charter Standard Development Club. Since 2002 clubs were also able to apply for the Charter Standard Community Club, the pinnacle of the FA Charter for Quality.
Foresters FC is a Charter Standard Community Club, not only that, we were also awarded the prestigious Charter Standard South East Regional Community Club of the Year for 2004. An achievement of which everyone involved at the club can be justifiably proud.
The Future
As Foresters Football Club continues to grow the management of the club are actively engaged in discussions with the local council to identify and secure a long term home base for our club. In achieving this strategic goal we will be in a strong position to gain senior status as a club. In the meantime, our tie-up with Tunbridge Wells FC sees more Foresters year groups than ever playing as Tunbridge Wells FC in the Kent Youth League.
We will strive constantly to deliver above and beyond expectations both on and off the field.
