Masterclass Autumn report

12 Nov 2008

Another great camp!

MasterClass Camp report - autumn 2008     Once again the MasterClass football camp got under way at Bayham over the school half term, and despite the weather warnings, all went well!   On day one all the players warmed up as a group and then went off with a designated coach. The session was set out in a rotating drill course, where each group of players had a variety of different disciplines to work through. These included; speed/agility, dribbling, control/touch, passing and shooting and additionally a hot shots radar gun showing the speed of their shot and agility shooting net for accurate placing of shots on goal.   The second day saw all the players again split up in to their relevant age groups and were sent off to work with the same coach all session. After a rigorous warm up the players worked through “game-like scenario” drills utilising the skills they had learnt on day 1. Judging by what I saw they worked this well and by the end of each drill you could see the results of their hard work paying off. At the end of the drill sessions each group played matches to put into practice what they had learned over both days.   After the matches finished the players were awarded with trophies, Certificates, Footballs and Foresters lollies. The customary group photo was again taken!   It was a privilege to work with all the players, their attitude and application was exceptional and a real credit to their parents.   Finally, I would like to thank Paddy Adams, David Card, Alex Kibbey, Chris Baker, Mick Baker, Andy Smith and Lee Horlock for all their hard work over the two days...... already looking forward to the next one!   WELL DONE AND KEEP PRACTISING   Best Regards   Barrie Pickett 0788 060 7761
