results for the weekend of 24th/25th March

Surely...nobody got caught out with British Summer Time???

As the clocks went forward this weekend it was inevitable that someone somewhere would forget to make the changes to the clocks......fortunately for the U14 Crowborough squad the well oiled wheels of the support organisation clicked into motion and the lads eventually kicked off in Bennenden (a colony of Cranbrook) a few minutes late. Without any form of thorough warm up or team talk they then proceeded to take the opposition apart and at half time it was obvious the Cranbrook lads were the one’s who wished they had forgotten to set their alarms!

The second half was a different affair altogether with the opposition coming right back into the game at 4:2 only to be finally undone by Foresters in the last few minutes when we sneaked a fifth goal.

I must say, having seen many Foresters goals this season the opener from Nick Churcher was without doubt the goal of the season so far. A beautifully flighted corner found Nick at the far post, 10 yards out, with his back to goal. With great agility and presence of mind instead of attempting a backward looping header he opted for the classic over-head scissor kick and to the delight of the travelling fans (and the admiration of the home fans) the ball hit the back of the net....unstoppable!

This week saw Foresters teams compete in 9 games, winning 6, drawing 2 and losing only once. An all-round superb performance again from the players right the way through to the coaches and volunteers. Well done to all concerned.
