MasterClass Easter Camp Report

25 Apr 2007

Two glorious days, 64 eager to learn players and an excellent team of coaches what more could you ask for........

Thursday saw the players split into their different age groups, after the warm up the 5 different age groups then rotated  through five different sections, speed / agility, dribbling, control / touch, passing and shooting. All the players took these disciplines in their stride and by the end of each section you could see the results of their hard work paying off. The groups then enjoyed practising and learning new skills and a few 1v1 games before the customary 15 minute match.

Friday was the turn of more match scenario training, after the warm up and quick feet the players were introduced to patterns of play training in the way of reaction drills, 1 v 1, 1 attacker verses 1 defender, 2 v 1, 2 v 2, 3 v 2 in which the players came into their own, showing all the skills they had learnt over the two days. Once again the session ended with matches in which you could see all the hard work come together with excellent football being played by every player.

After the matches were finished the players were awarded with Medals, Foresters Wrist Bands, Certificates, Foresters Window Stickers (which hopefully have been placed in their parents cars!) and Foresters Hats and then all smiles for the team photos.

It was a privilege to work with all the players on both the courses, their attitude and application was exceptional and a real credit to themselves and their parents.

I would like to thank Paddy Stern, John Hardwick, David Card, Terry Wickham, Alan Kibbey, Alex Kibbey, Chris Baker and Mick Baker for all
there hard work over the three days...... roll on the next one!

WELL DONE AND KEEP PRACTISING.

Director Of Football
