TANDRIDGE LEAGUE U12s - THE RUN IN
The Tandridge League U12s last 4 games consist of playing the teams in 2nd and 3rd place twice – 3 of these matches are away thanks to the “double headers” which all seem to have been scheduled up the M25.
The first 3 have now been played....
FORESTERS 0 TULSE HILL 2
This was a close fought match and at half time with the score at 0-0 and both defences clearly in charge it looked like ending that way.
It took 2 spectacular goals – the first from a free kick some 30 yards out and the second from a similar distance on the right wing – to beat us.
The Performance Cup went to one of our stalwart defenders – Ashley Abrams.
BATTLEBRIDGE 0 FORESTERS 3
T.Baitup 2
Stedman 19, 20
Battlebridge had lost only 2 matches all season and Tom Baitup’s second minute goal seemed to unnerve them.
The first half was marred by one of their players having to be taken to hospital with a broken wrist but ended with a flourish as Alex Stedman scored 2 goals in 2 minutes.
An excellent defensive display in the second half brought a deserved win.
Man of the Match Lewis Salter
Performance Cup Alfie Baitup
FORESTERS 0 BATTLEBRIDGE 6
Fifteen minutes after celebrating their win, the team were back on for the second leg of the double header.
Battlebridge went 1-0 up before half time, but the game could still have gone either way.
The second half saw 3 of our players off injured and as we ran out of substitutes we played with 10 men. Battlebridge showed why they are in contention for the title with 5 goals in 10 minutes.
We have one game left – away at Tulse Hill this Sunday – and look likely to finish in a respectable 8th place in our first season in this league.
