Under 8's "Evolve" against Darwin
24 Sep 2007
Match report for 23rd September 2007
Tunbridge Wells Foresters FC v Darwin
Today was Tunbridge Wells Foresters Fc Under 8's first Tandridge League game at home. The weather was good and the spirits were running high after our win last week.
Kick off was at 10am and we started playing as a team straight away. We attacked the Darwin goal with great passing and movement resulting in a terrific goal by Oliver Shine, who struck the ball from just out side the Darwin area and put it the left hand side of the goal.
By half time we were 2 nil up.The second half proved to be more difficult as Darwin were playing good football, their defence (number 9) was very strong. Darwin soon pulled a goal back and this was what we needed as it woke us up.Our third goal started from our defence when Tyler dribbled the ball from his half to the half way line then played a great pass to Toby who then dribbled the ball to their area and dodged passed their defence to slot the ball in the net.
The rest of the game was in Foresters control. There was great defending from Tyler and Alfie and the midfield was held by Oliver Ohine ,Oliver Bone,William Sweatman. In attack, Jarrod and Toby held their own and our keeper, Jake Hobart pulled of some great saves. I can say one thing, he is definitely not scared of anything!
The game finished 5 - 1 to Foresters FC.
Goal scorers were:
Jarrod 1
Oliver S 1
William 1
Toby 2
As a coach and parent I was very proud today of how much effort these lads put in to there game. So, thanks again to all the players; you all should be very proud of yourself.
Paddy.
