Under 8's Match report
Tunbridge Wells Foresters Under 8 (20) v. Battlebridge Boys (0)
Foresters under 8s started the game with great team spirit, all of the players were aware of what they were doing on the pitchand whilst the passing did start a bit on the slow side the team talking was excellent with each player talking to the next.
Oliver Shine did a great job at left mid field, always in space and letting the others know that he was in space. The first goal was scored by William Sweatman with a good pass from Alfie. William scored a few more times along with his teammates and at half time Foresters were 9 nil up.
The first half did a bit become a story of who can be the hero at scoring and as a result we took our eye off the fundamentals of the game such as passing. So, at half time we had a good chat to the players about passing and stressed that the score is not important but team work is.
So the second half started as the first with players wanting to be heroes and a few more goals were scored, but after 10 minutes the penny dropped with the team. The passing started and players were using the wings more and realised that by doing this the game became much easier. we then saw some great passing by Jarod and Oliver Shine, with Tyler and Harry supporting by doing a good job attacking. Harry at all times was very unselfish by instead of shooting he would pass. So by playing as a team passing and moving Foresters players did a great job today and won 20 nil.
I would like to thank Jake (Goal Keeper) for keeping intrested in the game as I know there was not much for you to do taday.
I would also like to say a few words about Battlebridge Boys,at no time did any of their players get disheartened by the way we were playing they just kept going and going there team spirit was second to none. Speaking to their coach, this is there first season together and i do wish them the best of luck for the rest of the season
So well done to all players and thanks again for all the support from all parents.
