Tandridge League game agianst Glebe Tigers

Under 8 (0) v Glebe Tigers (0) Away Game.02/03/08

Top of the league clash today and nobody was giving anything away; it was going to be a very difficult game. Foresters started off well with good passing and moving, Oliver Bone had a great shot at goal only to be denied by the cross bar. Glebe Tigers were much more physical than our boys; they were very strong on the ball and hard tacklers. This was a bit new for Foresters and we did shy off the ball a bit too much. This gave Glebe the advantage and attacked well but as usual with both Tyler and Harrison at the back they made it very hard for Glebe.

Our half time talk was about keeping more possession of the ball and that meant being stronger. The second half started at a quick pace, end to end action and both teams were working very hard. Foresters were having the better play and were much stronger on the ball. Tyler moved up front and Toby went in defence and after 10 minutes of play Glebe was on top again. In one attack our boys were ball watching when two Glebe players broke free and attacked our goal. Tyler gave chase and managed to get his foot in but it was Jake (goalie) who made a great and very brave save, unfortunately in doing this Jake got injured and had to come off (he is ok now). Alfie replaced Jake and it was then our turn to put the pressure on, midfield players came up with some good passing we had a couple of shots cleared of their line. All in all Foresters played very well together and it was a fair result for both teams.

This game today was a good lesson for the Foresters players and they have come away from this today a little bit wiser.
