End of season report for the Tandridge under7's
19 Apr 2008
Can we get another side together?
As the season has now drawn to a close, both Lee and myself would like to thank all the players parents for their support and understanding this year and we hope everybody has enjoyed our first season playing matches. Unfortunately due to teams dropping out in our league it seemed to be a stop start season, as soon as the boys seemed to get it together they seem to have 1 or 2 weeks off, this coupled with the rotation of players meant that players would not play for 2/3 weeks and miss that cutting edge.
The highlights for me must be the 2 close games against Whiteleaf and of course the home match against Darwin at the Nevill, in which we played the kind of passing attacking football that could quite easily have graced the Emirates, this the way we want to see our boys play football.
We are hoping to continue training Wednesday nights as I feel this is a great way to get the boys ready for next season and for self improvement. I know everybody would agree how well the boys have done this season and how much they have all improved..... WELL DONE BOYS!!
Moving on to next season we will be playing in the top division against teams like Selsdon and Whiteleaf and will have to start playing our strongest team, with this in mind I would like to run2 teams in the Tandridge League next season but can only do this if 2 people come forward to take it on. We need to be running 2 teams not only so everybody gets maximum match time but when the boys go 11 a side we will then be able to merge the 2 teams together to form a great 1st team. If anybody would like to have a chat about taking this rewarding opportunity on please see me.
Once again many thanks for your support
Barrie and Lee
