Weekend Round Up

22 May 2008

Foresters manage a clean sweep

Foresters had an excellent delegation at the well run, local Pembury Tournament held at Schools at Summerhill. Well done to all the players and coaches who entered this. It is great to see the Foresters name at the forefront of local football!

U7’s Tandridge team (non-competitive) played 6 drew 1 and won 5. Even in a non-competitive environment it is good to see these players use their physical and mental skills to play their football. This age group is particularly strong and well managed under the watchful eyes of Year Group Manager Barrie Pickett

U9’s Tandridge team had their first tournament success winning the U9 year group. They played 7 matches in all and took the scalps of Langton Green and a very neat Tandridge A division Tulse Hill on their way to the final against Pembury. The team managed to put 6 passed the Pembury team without reply. The Tandridge U9 squad are looking to strengthen their numbers to create a second team. If you are a strong player and committed contact Manager Andy Smith.

U11’s also played 5 games in the group stages drawing 1 and winning 4. They unfortunately were drawn against the 2nd Foresters U11 side on their way to the final but the Tandridge team edged them 2-0 to secure a finals spot. Great work from the players and the Manager too.

Don’t forget Foresters Fun Day on 14th June at Bayham starting at 9.30am. It will be a good opportunity for players to bring all their family along to enjoy the day. Apart from the “House Challenges” there will also be Bouncy Castle, Bouncy Slide, Inflatable Assault Course, Stalls, Bar-B-Q, Beer Tent, Medal Presentations, Hot Shots, Crossbar Challenge, Penalty Shootout, great raffle prizes and the chance to win an XBOX 360.
