Broad Oak success

“Congratulations to Foresters U16’s who won the Broad Oak tournament on Sunday 14th June. Foresters finished second in the group stages having played 6 matches, winning 3 and drawing 3. In a tense semi-final against a strong Southdown side nails were bitten to the quick as the game ended goal-less after extra time forcing the lottery of penalty kicks. Foresters held their nerve and Grant pulled off 2 fine penalty saves in addition to scoring a penalty himself to see the side through to a final against local rivals Jarvis Brook. Foresters dominated the final and won the game 1-0 courtesy of a fine strike by Tom Meek. It was a very hot day and all the lads gave 100%, thoroughly deserving their triumph. Well done to the squad, the coaching staff and the sun-burnt supporters”.
