Under 11s hit 20 goals (yes that's TWENTY!)
GIRLS UNDER 11s LEAGUE MATCH
At Bayham
SATURDAY 3rd NOVEMBER 2007
Tunbridge Wells Foresters 20 Rusthall 1
Question; How does a team react to their first ever defeat in the league? Answer; By scoring twenty goals in what has to be one of the best performances ever made by a team of ten girls!
There were some first class performances on display today as the girls marched to their biggest league win ever, against Rusthall at Bayham. The match started as always with a few nervous jitters, but within 5 minutes Harriet Montgomery had once again stepped up with a cracking goal to set the nerves at rest.
Millie Everett played, what was without question, her finest match with a total of 7 goals and scooped the player of the match award. With 3 more goals from Harriet and a remarkable hat-trick each for Gemma Rathmell & Emma Salter, we simply looked unstoppable.
Victoria Eales got on the score sheet twice, for the first time this season to cap a highly convincing and truly unbelievable game. Rusthall sneaked a goal half way through the second half and to their credit they never gave up and not once did they let their heads drop. Unfortunately they also scored a rather clumsy own goal, but these things happen in football.
Everyone that played today deserves a mention so congratulations to Nia Lewis, Madalena Hernandez, Chloe Butler and Phoebe D’albertanson. An extra special congratulations to Martha Reynolds who played in her first ever league match, and looked as comfortable as if she had played for months.
Well done to all the girls and my appreciation to Phoebe’s Dad, Simon, for refereeing the game again.
The next Under 11s match is the big one away at Hastings just two weeks from now on Saturday 17th November.
