Girls are 'Genuine Class'!
GIRLS UNDER 11s LEAGUE MATCH
At Hastings
SATURDAY 17th NOVEMBER 2007
Tunbridge Wells Foresters 2 Hastings Hawks 1
On probably the coldest and windiest day of the season so far, the top of the table clash between Foresters and Hastings was a tense affair, but a sparkling second half performance ensured a sweet victory and a position at top of the league.
The first half started slowly and Hastings spent a lot of time attacking. Some brilliant defensive performances from Lydia Roberts & Gabrielle Morris were marred when there was a scrap in the penalty box which resulted in the ball somehow finding the back of the Foresters net!
Probably slightly deserved, Hastings were leading at half-time with just the slender advantage of a goal. In the second half Foresters started to play some better football and within five minutes Harriet Montgomery struck twice to send Hastings reeling. After that Foresters never looked like conceding any goals and the match was a win and secured our position as the only undefeated team in the Under 11s league.
Well done to all girls who took part, player of the match was Hannah Lautch who played her finest game so far so an extra well done to her. Also much gratitude to Harriet for saving our bacon!
The next Under 11s match is at home to Paddock Wood, just two weeks from now on Saturday 1st December.
