GIRLS UNDER 12s LEAGUE MATCH
At Bayham
SATURDAY 26th JANUARY 2008
Tunbridge Wells Foresters 7 Paddock Wood 1
Four goals from Harriet Montgomery, player of the match, ensured our first attempt at revenge from our 2 – 0 defeat away to Paddock Wood earlier in the season. Right from the start Foresters were attacking and after several early chances and near misses, we got the all important first goal and the flood gates opened.
With some excellent passing in midfield, and some solid defending, Foresters were once again able to highlight the core strength we have built up over the last 18 months. Playing as a unit, we looked unstoppable. Our second goal, and arguably the best of the game came from Emma Salter who hit the ball from the outside of the box low into the bottom corner, beating the goalkeeper comprehensively.
Emma went on to score a second goal and a fantastic solo effort from Gemma Rathmell made up our seven score line!
We now sit proudly 2nd in the league table; 6 points clear of third place Crowborough, and only behind Southdown on goal difference. Southdown have a couple of games in hand so we have to make it count when we finally get to play them at Bayham later in the year.
Well done to all the girls, yet again, for a fantastic effort and result – let’s keep the momentum going now until the end of the season.
Our next Under 12s match is a Quarter Final Cup Game against Crowborough at Bayham on Saturday 9th February.
