No way through at Jarvis Brook
GIRLS UNDER 11s LEAGUE MATCH
At Bayham
SATURDAY 16th FEBRUARY 2008
Tunbridge Wells Foresters 1
Jarvis Brook Girls 1
Foresters were held to a draw for only the 2nd time this season in the Under 11s League. With a slightly weakened team lining up against Jarvis Brook, the girls took to their task well with some fantastic football. The passing was good, and several chances presented themselves before Jarvis Brook broke down the field and slotted an easy goal home to take the lead.
The second half started with a bang! Within 10 seconds Foresters had put the match back on level terms with a stunning solo run from Gemma Rathmell, finished with a cross and a superb strike from Victoria Eales which almost broke the back of the net.
After the goal we pushed on to get a winning goal but it was to be one of those days. Every 50:50 chance went to Jarvis Brook and in the end Foresters had to settle for a draw. Well deserved on the part of Jarvis Brook who played excellently, and as always had the utmost respect for our team.
Well done to the girls, we’re now exactly half way through the Under 11 fixtures with some important matches coming up – the business end of the season awaits, and if we continue to show our strength and skill on the pitch then I’m sure we can end up with some silverware this season to add to last year’s cup success.
