Back-to-back Cup Finals for the girls

GIRLS UNDER 11s SEMI FINAL CUP MATCH
At Bayham

SATURDAY 5th APRIL 2008

Tunbridge Wells Foresters 9 Rusthall 2

The dream of the glory of back-to-back cup wins remains intact after a stunning display from the girls on Saturday against Rusthall. Due to the bad weather over the last few weeks this was the first match played in almost a month and the girls started slowly. We had to wait until only the 4th minute when Gemma Rathmell smashed home the first of what was to be an emphatic double hat-trick on the day.

The first half was just an all out assault on the Rusthall goal, with attack after attack raining in. Some cleverly worked passes and plays paid off as Foresters went in at half time with a comfortable five goal lead.

The second half started pretty much in the same vain and with only 15 minutes played Foresters found themselves in a rather convincing 9 – 0 lead. Rusthall to their credit never gave up and after a superb play squeezed home a goal. This gave them a breath of fresh air which allowed them to perk up and score a second, but it was very much a case of too little too late.

Foresters march on into the Final now which is to be played at 2pm on Saturday 26th April, at Jockey Farm in Rusthall. Full details will be sent out and placed on the website in due course. Well done to all the girls and player of the match Gemma. We are surging towards more silverware and a cup final rehearsal is due to be played this Saturday at Bayham in the league.
