Mustangs hit another 6!

But at what price?
Mustangs Win at Catford! Beckenham Youth 1 – 6 TWF MustangsVery wet conditions greeted us at Catford for our 2nd league game against Beckenham Youth. The team played a tidy passing game which enabled us to overcome a very tough and physical Beckenham Youth team.
The score at half time was 0-3, with coaches early nerves settled by some excellent running, incisive passing play and cool finishing. We looked solid at the back with both Eddy and James repelling attacks and Jamie having another excellent game in goal. A sound debut in central midfield by Lee meant we looked in control for long periods. However, in this age group, games can turn very quickly, so a clear message was given to the players at half time:
Keep passing
Shoot on sight of goal
Keep your heads
Second half saw much of the same, good clean tackling from the Mustangs, exciting runs and well delivered passes. Again our shooting was cool under pressure and 3 more goals were added to our tally. Some great runs and crosses by Alfie and Liam meant we looked like scoring whenever we went forward.
Jack came back on after a painful knock and played a very good, solid game.
Beckenham pulled 1 back but too little too late to risk us losing the match.
Well done to all our squad today, 4 goals from Callum means he certainly had brought the right boots after all!
