Foresters hit 8!

Tunbridge Wells Foresters 8 vs. Junior Sports 1
A blustery, showery, completely awful autumnal morning greeted Junior Sports (Bromley) to Hawkenbury. Fortunately the weather was as bad for them as it was us!
Despite only starting with 6 players Juniors started well but Foresters had them pegged back from the off. Their goalie was late arriving and turned up after 5 minutes of play but no goals. Foresters’ passing game was superb today and they marked their intentions early with a few half chances. Foresters knew time would tell before cracks appeared and sure enough a good opportunity fell to Miller who duly despatched his first. The second goal came about from a poorly cleared kick from Juniors and the ball fell nicely to Josh who merely adjusted his stride to thump the ball home for 2-0. The 3rd shortly before the half ended fell again to Josh.
With half time being gladly received by both coaches the players re-assembled themselves for a challenging 2nd half.
Foresters again started brightly but Juniors had other ideas and started showing serious intentions. Razor swapped with Sollie in defence and the balance of play tipped enough for Juniors to score. Razor went up front and Miller dropped back to his trusty right back position. Very soon after Razor latched on to a ball and thumped it passed the Juniors Keeper for 4-1. Almost immediately after that Razor again found the ball needing a home and duly slotted the ball into the net for 5-1. Foresters continued to pass and play Juniors around and a great through ball found Liam who also found the net for 6-1. A few chances and tweaks saw Sollie drop to right back and Miller return to attack and a well taken corner found a wanting Foresters head in Miller for his second and the teams 7th! Luke was rested and while resting Razor again played his part in delivering the 8th and his hat trick! Again through all this Kieran did not have a huge amount to do, but when he did he did it well. This was probably one of Kieran’s best performances and we have to thank the Kibbey partnership for the quality of Kieran’s goalkeeping today.
The game was played in difficult conditions with rain and greasy pitch adding to the mix. The referee, despite other elements adding to the his mix, managed the play well.
The performance of the players was by far the best in the 2 seasons we have been together. Their passing and movement off the ball was extraordinarily excellent. The clinical passing was the single biggest difference between the two sides.
This was a superb team performance jam packed with players who wanted to play for each other and win as a team! Well done lads!
