Mustangs hit 4!
26 Oct 2008
5 out of 5 and all wins!
TWF Mustangs 4 – 1 New Beckenham ColtsDamp drizzly weather greeted Mustangs for their first home game at Hawkenbury. This week our visitors were New Beckenham Colts.
We welcomed Jamie back in goal after injury and both Joe and Alfie were back in the side.
Any thoughts of quick goals were dispelled as New Beckenham proved themselves to be a well organized and determined side. Mustangs played some good football using the wings but our final pass was sometimes a little too late. The deadlock was broken after 19 minutes by a well taken shot from Joe. A second was added a couple of minutes later when a scramble in the penalty box resulted in Joe slotting the ball home.
New Beckenham made several attacks which were handled well by our midfield and defence. Jamie was called upon to make a brave save at the feet of an opposing player.
Second half and Mustangs came out attacking. Callum scored after 3 minutes making it 3 – 0. He added his 2nd and the side’s 4th after 16 minutes. Two well taken opportunities.
Our visitors continued to play their football and scored with a good solo effort from their No. 9. Disappointing from a Mustangs perspective as we failed to close him down.
Still, a good result against well organized opposition making it 5 wins in 5 games and a maximum 10 points. Still early days but our good start has continued.
Again no individual Man of The Match, many contenders with the whole side from Goal Keeper to Striker showing some good touches and a desire to win.
