Mustangs Hit 7 With No Reply

TWFC Mustangs 7 – 0 Balgowan

A few days of dry weather meant our pitch at Hawkenbury was playable and Mustangs were keen to impress on home soil.

Early exchanges were fairly even but Mustangs took control on 10 mins when a shot from James was cleared only as far as a waiting Liam who struck home. 5 mins later and Joe scored the 2nd putting Mustangs in the driving seat.

At half time, coach talked to the players about the need for them to push on and to pass the ball to each other more quickly. The message seemed to work as the team played some very good passing moves.

A super cross from Alfie was turned in by our Captain, Callum after 3 mins. Alfie, who had another good game on our left scored a cracker on 7 mins. The floodgates were open now and a tiring Balgowan blocked shot after shot. Joe added his 2nd and the team’s 5th after 15 mins, with Liam adding our 6th and his 2nd a minute later. The final goal came again from Alfie on 21 mins.

Overall a very good performance, with some good movement and passing. Room for improvement on our positional play, we need to be less static and use space better. However, after only 7 games together, this team shows great promise.
