Foresters get a Battering

Battersea too strong?
Battersea 2 vs. Foresters 0
Despite the gale force winds and unrepentant rain the night before the pitch was in great shape, unlike the players. This was our furthest distance to travel in the season and the previous meeting between the two sides ended with Foresters grabbing a great 3-2 win at home.
Both teams started brightly and as usual Foresters failed to find their rhythm early on. After about 10 minutes Battersea scored. Foresters continued to play but found no rhythm, space or desire. Battersea were closing them down all the time and denied them any space to operate. Foresters failed to gain any foothold and despite a few chances could do little to expose the defence. The half ended 1-0.
The half time break did little to restore confidence and Battersea continued to dominate the play. Late on in the second half Battersea scored again and despite 6 outfield players playing their game they failed to play as a team and make the difference over all.
This was a wakeup call for team and hopefully they will begin to understand that team work requires everyone to be cohesive in defence and attack.
