Mustangs travelled to Oxted looking for their 13th straight victory in the league. Playing into a head wind in the first half, Foresters had the lion’s share of possession against a strong and well organised opposition but lacked the killer instinct in the final third of the pitch. Liam hit the post early on and several more chances came and went before we went into the interval at 0-0. Foresters stayed in control into the second half and eventually the deadlock was broken when Joe collected a loose ball just past the half way line and drove it into the bottom corner of the net from 25 yards out. Five minutes later Alfie secured the points from a trademark free kick, flighting a long range effort over the Oxted defence. This was a determined performance against a team that defended with commitment and discipline. The whole team worked hard today and took another important step closer to the title.
