U12A Match Report 16th Sept 2007

TULSE HILL ‘B’ 6 FORESTERS ‘A’ 3
Finally after a long summer wait the football was finally with us, and required a trip to South East London for our first game.
Due to several players not being available we only had the bare 11 and therefore had to play a slightly different 3-5-2 system from normal.
We started the match brightly creating several half chances and were matching Tulse Hill shoot for shoot for about the first 10 minutes. Tulse Hill then scored a good headed goal from a corner, and shortly afterwards scored a second from a break. None of the player’s heads went down and they all kept battling hard and were awarded a deserved penalty. This was calmly converted by Tom Beck. We then equalised with a goal that looked offside however Jordan kept playing to the whistle and passed to Harry Barlow who slotted home. However straight from the kick off Tulse Hill scored again to make it 3-2 at half time.
Shortly into the second half we equalised for the third time with a scrambled own goal (Jordan Hounsell having the final Foresters goal bound touch!), and were at this stage taking the game to them. Tulse Hill had the luxury of making several revolving substitutions while our walking wounded including Jack, Jake, Christian and Jordan bravely kept going, however the fresh legs of Tulse Hill then added a fourth. Still we would not give in and continued to press for an equaliser. Unfortunately, Tulse Hill scored two late goals which rather flattered the final score.
In conclusion this was a marvellous effort from every one of the players and perhaps if we had subs the score may have been different.
The man of the match was awarded to George Chambers for some great tackles and solid defending.
Thanks again to the boys for their non-stop efforts
Julian and Dave
