West Wickham v Foresters U12A

27 Mar 2007

Same team, same result

West Wickham    1    Foresters U12 A    1

 5                                T.Baitup    35

For the third game in a row Foresters conceded an early goal – this time from a superb shot after 5 minutes. We were on the back foot for much of the first half but a great defensive display (marshalled by goalie Brad Collins) meant that we went in 1-0 down at half time.

The second half with the wind (literally) behind us saw Foresters pushing forward.  Five minutes into the half and we were level thanks to a well-taken goal by Tom Baitup. Our midfield started to win far more of the ball and the game was largely played in their half. Some excellent passing meant that we created several more chances but couldn’t quite get the winner.

This was only our second draw of the season – and against the same team, but in the end a draw against one of the top clubs in this league was a great result.A great team performance and one that shows just how much we have progressed this season.

This Sunday we have a chance to move further up the table with a double header at Whitehorse Wanderers (a team we beat earlier in the season in the cup).

Man of the Match:   Bradley Collins

Performance Cup:   Alex Stedman
