U13s GO SECOND

Foresters U13  4     Redhill 0

Laurie 2, Stoneham, Wickham,

Foresters U13 went back into a clear second spot in the league after a comprehensive 4-0 defeat of Redhill. Foresters were always in control of the game and in certain periods gave a great lesson in how to keep the ball, stringing together several moves of seven and eight passes. It was a game that was difficult to pick out any players who were better than the others however the two centre backs George Harbour and Matt Taylor and the two centre midfield players Chris Wickham and Conor Jackson held position well, this allowed the rest of the side to form up in the classic 4-4-2 and we help shape and position all the game, from a coaching point of view this is very good news. The three substitutes Harry Spencer, James Beeson and Huw Bristow all did excellently well when they came on, Huw had a great header at the end which thumped against the bar. Joe Laurie again chipped in with two goals, the second being a great header, and Ollie Stoneham got back on the scoresheet after a frustrating draught. All in all an excellent performance from a team that is beginning to show a great deal of self belief. Fantastic to see a large support again from parents and at least two grandads this week. Well done.
