On sunday tunbridge wells under 13s A took on Tulse Hill A in the quater final of the League cup at home with the availability of boys down to bare bones and taking on a team a league above them it was going to be a tough ask never the less take them on we did
the game started and foresters were out the blocks first putting in some very strong tackles against boys that were physically bigger and playing some very entertaining football a super ball played down the right by williamson to waterman then down the line to tampsett who pass across to finn running in the box who's shot just flow past the top right-hand corner this was followed moments later by another move which saw the ball fly across the area moments after that bunyan escaped his marker only to be brought down penalty to foresters up stepped captain carrick his shot was saved by the keeper he followed up but was thwarted by the keeper but bunyan was close at hand and blasted the ball into the net 1-0 foresters foresters were bossing the game till half time score still 1-0 foresters started the second half as strong and yet a lapse in concentration cost us dear as tulse hill pulled level the boys showed great pride as they went looking for the second as they carried the game to there opponents after a corner from the left was headed out by the defender which dropped just outside the penalty box step up Ryan Waterman running onto the ball a striking it with power sent the ball flying to the top left-hand corner UNSTOPPERBALL 2-1 boys were awesome competing against such powerful opponents foresters had another breakaway with it culminating with a great shot from tampsett hitting the top of the bar with time running out was the tie going to be over but alas a ball over top found a forward unmarked and with the advancing kibbey coming to meet the player he put it over his head 2-2 game into extra time the game continued with foresters just having the edge enter luther his debut and after another lovely footballing move luther buried the loose ball 3-2 foresters back again came Tulse hill 3-3 what a game then at the start of the second period of extra time foresters were slow into their stride with a ball over the top they were caught out and for the first time we were behind with the players getting visibly tired the bigger stronger visitors got the upper hand and with a couple of minutes to go the visitors got another 5-3 this was the final result but the boys can feel proud in the performance they gave this was summed up with the applause that all the parents gave them as they walked of the pitch well done boys that was a fantastic effort and one which you should be proud off as all of the coach's and parents are.
