match report

1 May 2007

On Sunday the under 13s A went away to play table toppers Croydon in a double header, with so much at stake for both sides, this was going to be 2 games which would affect possible end of season positions for both sides i.e. with 2 wins Croydon could win the title and 2 wins for foresters could see them with a chance of winning the title.

First Game
foresters started well and settled the better of the two sides in the first 5 mins croydon started to get back into the game with so much at stake it was not a game for free flowing football and the midfield and defence had battled with their counterparts with callum having an outstanding game in defence reaching half time 0-0 and looking like the stronger side. the second half with the wind against their backs foresters started to have a stronger hold in the game and 10 mins into the half foresters were award a free kick  which adam carrick took and when the keeper dropped the ball adam bunyan was on hand to slot the ball in  1-0  minutes later another poor clearance found Hazza who knocked the ball over the keeper 2-0 which remain the score.

Second Game
During the interval and with a positive mood running through the squad and knowing croydon would throw the kitchen sink at as but sadly playing against the wind and not adjusting to the on slaught from croydon foresters were 3-0 down inside 7mins and now with the opposition buoyant, the foresters slowly got back into the game with individual battles going on all around the park Ben Williamson having a strong 1st game and showing well again in the 2nd, although competing well for the rest of the game foresters never created a goal scoring chance but croydon did have two great chances but were foiled by the dependable Alex kibbey so honours even at the end the boys must take heart from the fact we have beaten both the sides at the top

We have 2 games left to play and with positive results from both games could find ourselves move up the table remember league winners are more consistent then everyone else in the league
