Welcome to the new season!
Hi all
Hope all the kids are looking forward to our 1st training session on the Saturday 9th September as much as I am (I’m already finding it hard to sleep at night!). There are a few things that need to be done before we start at Bayham, and unfortunately me writing and you reading a couple of long emails are one of them, so here goes .....
Players details . I need to have these in case of emergency and to cover my child protection, so could you please email your child’s name, date of birth, school, school year, address, all parents names, all home phone numbers, all mobile numbers, all email addresses, foresters coat numbers (if you have one) and any health problems or other information I should know about to me, this needs to be done even if you have filled in a form or sent these to me before (this will save me so much work!).
Club membership. You will need to bring with you Saturday £20 (cheques made payable to Tunbridge Wells Foresters Football Club), a copy of your child’s birth certificate and a pen to fill in some forms! . This then means your child is a Foresters club member and is covered by the clubs insurance and will receive their ‘Foresters Jacket’ (for those not sure their child will enjoy the ‘Foresters experience’ I still need you to fill out the forms, but will hold on to your cheque for a while). The hard fact is we will have to stop your child training unless this is done because the club insurance requires this. A copy of the Foresters Football Club’s constitution can be downloaded from the website
Subs. The cost of training is £3 per session. Last season some parents paid upfront (£30 for 10 weeks), this worked really well and saved me a lot of time messing around trying to find, count and bank all the money.
The website. This is now up and running and is full of news about your club and your year group, go to www.forestersfc.com (for the development squad news click on the 'year group' tab, go to the right hand side and click on 'development squad news').
Child protection. I have to make sure everyone is happy with the way we do things (a sign of the times unfortunately) i.e. if a child is upset or in distress at training the coach may put his arm around them and try to comfort them, etc. if you are happy or not happy with this please email me back.
Email. This is the way I would like to communicate (after Saturday mornings I lose the ability to talk!) so if you want me to send emails to different addresses as well, please let me know.
Coaches. Simply the more helpers - the better, so feel free to join in, just come up to Andy or myself and volunteer - you never know, you might enjoy it! .
Boots. Now we are finally getting some rain! You will probably be thinking of buying football boots, the advice being passed down to me is to stay away from blades and go for the stud type (if you want more info ask me), and don’t forget 'THE COACH LOVES CLEAN BOOTS! '.
I did say two days ago when I started typing it was going to be a long email! . I will be sending out another email over the next day or two about what to have in your kit bag.
In the mean time if you have any questions feel free to give me a ring 01892 527709.
all the best
Barrie Pickett
