Tandridge League Under 9’s – Match Report
Our first away match of the season was a trip to Beckenham to take on Langley Hawks.
Langley started brightly and competed well in the opening exchanges of the game with the Foresters finding it difficult to get in to the game and get their normal passing game going.
Langley’s persistent approach was starting to pay off as they created several half chances early in the match.
Langley took the lead after 10 minutes with a goal out of nothing from a moment of indecision in the Foresters defence giving Langley a 1 – 0 half time lead.
In the second half the Foresters started brightly and forced their way back in the game with a good finish from Charlie from 12 yards out. The Foresters failed to build on the goal and went a goal behind again from a corner with 15 minutes remaining with Langley again looking the stronger more committed side.
Several fine saves from Oscar, in the Foresters goal kept us in the game as we looked to fashion an equaliser but it wasn’t to be as the game ended in a narrow defeat.
