Instructions

Fields lane, in the centre of the map below, is the road that leads to the entrance of the Wateringbury Playing fields. If you have a shiny new car, with no 4x4 or off-road capability, you may want to leave it in “The Wateringbury” pub car park (shown on the map as the “Premier Inn Maidstone”, which is attached), and walk down. That’s not to say that a normal car cannot get down there, but the track down to the pavilion is not tarmacked, and it is very rough. And if the weather has been wet, your car will get splashed with muddy water, and you will get thrown around a lot!
The map shows Fields Lane going straight down (pretty much due South) and then dog-legging sharp left and sharp-right. PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON FIELDS LANE. The dirt track starts just after the right turn into Cobbs Close, where you will see a gate. Drive straight through the gated entrance (it will be open) and follow the dirt track all the way down to the bottom where you will see the pavilion. When you drive up to the pavilion turn right and you will see parking spaces there, overlooking the main men’s football pitch. There is usually ample room for the 3 away teams, as most of us in the village live within walking distance.
The kids pitches are “behind” you just the other side of the gated playing area. We will be serving tea, coffee and bacon butties so bring some change and a good appetit
