A loss to the top team, but a performance to be proud of

Really strong performance. Missing some of our regulars, particularly in defence, we went in at half time 1-0 down after a heroic first half. Then 1 minute into the second half, we were level, with a first goal for Maya. We always looked threatening at the front. But so did they. With tired legs, we switched off 5 minutes later, and in that minute they scored 2 goals to take it to 3-1. I was hoping we would contain it to 3-1 and even steal a goal back. We were defending with bodies and quick on the counter. However, 8 minutes before the end, another lapse in concentration and another two goals against in the space of less than a minute.

It was hard work out there. We played with a couple of players that aren't quite match fit and Hayden had 4 more subs than we did. They've also got at least 1 county-girl in their team. So all in all a really proud performance.
