League Cup Quarter Final - We nearly did it.

A wonderful effort from all the girls. We lost to a strong side, but we pushed them to the end. Down to an early goal, a wonderfully taken penalty by Codie-Rose took us into half time at 1-1. Then an unfortunate own-goal 13minutes into the second half put us behind again; but five minutes later Emily was in the right place and the right time and took a perfect touch in the six yard box to get us level again. And we hung in there until full-time. The tempo was amazing and the commitment from every single one of our players was even more amazing. Into extra time. Even when we went 3-2 behind there was every single change that we were going to get level again, until an accelerated finish by the Castle Colts forward line killed the game off. But, and a big but, we just didn't stop and in the dying 2-3 minutes we must have had four corners and several half attempts at goal. Very brave. And I'm very proud.
